Manx Executive Challenge
Doolane ny Reiree Manninagh
Freedom to Flourish
- The Challenge is a unique development opportunity for young managers who
are resident in the Isle of Man. - A key element is taking on a complex project in a secure environment.
Imagine - you are not at work and so you can attempt solutions without
the scrutiny of your employer. - At the same time you face peer and time pressures. To succeed you must
search for the right approach, not only to answer the Challenge but also
to become the person you know you can be. - To ensure you are not left on your own to face your demons, each team
has a Mentor, a person with years of experience and no shortage of
wisdom, they will help you to find your way through. - You should grow as a person, with more skills, greater self-confidence, a
clearer view of what you can achieve, and huge satisfaction of a challenge
met and conquered.
How it works
The Challenge participants are selected and formed into small teams combining people from public and private sector backgrounds. A number of economic sectors and industries have been represented including manufacturing; international finance; services; teaching and retail. Educational background is less important than experience, attitude and the commitment to succeed.
- There is a residential induction session
- The teams are formed
- The Challenge projects are announced
The Challenge promotes team-working, development of communications skills, and accelerates the development of a personal network of contacts.
Each Team is judged on a written report and a presentation made to the judges and audience including politicians, business and professional people. There is often media coverage on radio and in newspapers during the period between the Launch and Final.
