Meet the Organising Committee

Ann Clayton - Photo

Ann Clayton is a Chartered Director and Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute. After an early career in IT, she became Commercial Director of Clerical Medical International and moved to the Isle of Man in 1986 to set up their administration base. She later spent time as Commercial Manager at Isle of Man Creameries before returning to the finance sector as a senior manager for Royal Skandia. She is now a business consultant and a lecturer on the CMI Diploma and Executive Diploma in Management. Ann is also a director and Company Secretary for Junior Achievement.

Amy Bates - photo

Amy Bates was born and educated on the Isle of Man. After taking a BA (Hons) in French and German at the University of Liverpool and working abroad, she returned to the Isle of Man in 1996 to train as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte and Touche. She joined Crowe Morgan Chartered Accountants in a managerial capacity in 2000. Amy competed in the Manx Executive Challenge 2006.

Clive Williams - photo

Clive Williams was a career banker with Barclays mainly in the U.K. From a Divisional Director’s position in London he moved to the Island as Director and Head of Operations of Barclays Private Bank & Trust (Isle of Man) Ltd. Since completing his Barclays career Clive established his own company Mentor Management & Training Consultancy Ltd. and has worked closely with the Chartered Management Institute, the Isle of Man College and the International Business School in providing and promoting Management Skills training on the Island. He is active within the community and is a Churchwarden at Kirk Braddan.

Chris Blake - photo

Chris Blake joined Barclays Wealth as a local corporate Relationship Manager in May 2006, and has spent the best part of 15 years in the offshore finance industry. Starting his career with Isle of Man Bank, Chris worked in the south of the Island before moving to Allied Irish Offshore in Douglas, where he gave 10 years service both locally and in Jersey. As well as recently completing the CMI Level 5 Management Diploma, Chris also holds the FPC & MAQ qualifications, and was a member of the winning team in the 2006 Manx Executive Challenge.

David Wigg - photo

David Wigg is a chartered accountant, a member of the Securities and Investment Institute and a past Chairman of the Isle of Man Branch of the Chartered Management Institute. From senior audit manager at Ernst & Young he moved into life assurance becoming Chief Financial Officer of AXA Isle of Man covering operations from fund management to sales of international life assurance and pension products. David now works as a consultant. He is also a director and Treasurer of Junior Achievement Isle of Man, a charity providing enterprise education in Manx schools.

Jason Moorhouse - photo

Jason Moorhouse gained his first degree in PPE and his Masters in Strategic Planning at the LSE. He is currently responsible for the teaching of Economics at Castle Rushen. He plays an active role in the delivery of Junior Achievement. In recent years he has enabled CRHS to gain significant media coverage, having guided several teams to success in the highly prestigious Shares4School Competition, which is Europe’s first real investment challenge for Sixth Form students. He participated in MEC 2006.

Lisa Duckworth - photo

Lisa Duckworth worked in Marketing for British Airways in Manchester before moving to the Island 6 years ago to take up the position of Sales & Marketing Manager for Manx Airlines. She currently holds this position at Isle of Man Post, with further responsibilities for Customer Services. Lisa was a contestant and on the winning team in the 2006 Challenge.

Ravina Talbot - photo

Ravina Talbot's career started in health and social care and then progressed from nursing to establishing the IOM Social Services NVQ centre. She has worked as an external verifier with both City and Guilds and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. Ravina currently operates as a consultant in Health, Education and Management. She is a ‘virtual tutor’ for the Open University in Heath and Social Care courses and an elected representative on the Open University Senate Reference Panel and the Associate Lecturers Panel in the North West. She is involved in the community as member of the Health Service Consultative Committee and Higher Education Forum (IOM), Chair of the Manx Carers Association, Member for the Douglas Partnership Quayside Regeneration committee, and Senior Manager of St Johns Mill with responsibilities in strategy, mentoring and auditing.

Richard Slee - photo

Richard Slee was a member of the “Red” team which won the 2006 Manx Executive Challenge. He is a Master of Marketing from one of the Asia-Pacific’s leading business schools, the Melbourne Business School. Since graduating, Richard has worked in a variety of roles with O2’s subsidiary in the Isle of Man, Manx Telecom. He is actively involved with the Chartered Institute of Marketing in the Isle of Man and also helped establish the UK alumni chapter for Melbourne Business School. Outside his professional life, Richard sings with a 7 piece soul band and is also a founder member of the Shoestring Theatre Group.

Sharon Mitchell - photo

Sharon Mitchell is a Controller for Scottish Provident Life Assurance Limited (SPILA). She is a member of Chartered Management Institute, Chartered Insurance Institute and British Computer Society. She started her career on the island in 1994 and has worked mainly in IT for Royal and Sun Alliance and SPILA. Sharon now has responsibility for Business Improvements, Training and Alterations within Operations at SPILA and is currently studying for her Diploma in Management with CMI.

Sue Strang - photo

Sue Strang works for the Department of Trade and Industry as their Equality Adviser and works on the development and modernisation of the Island’s employment law framework. She has a law degree and a Masters in Law and Employment Relations. She was a contestant in the 2004 Challenge and a committee member for the 2006 Challenge.

Vicky Wilson - photo

Vicki Wilson is originally from Manchester and has lived in the Isle of Man for 18 years. She was educated at Queen Elizabeth II High School in Peel before moving into her chosen career in retailing. Starting out at Next, Vicki then moved to a management position with the Game Strores Group, and she is now in charge of River Island's successful Douglas store. Vicki is a member of the Chartered Management Institute and she took part in the Manx Executive Challenge 2006 where she was a member of the Blue Team.
